A Satanic Creed
What I have learned as a Satanist.
Greetings and Salutations. I apologize for not writing more often. I keep seeing new subscribers, and I haven’t written much on here in over a year. I appreciate greatly that any of you care what I have to say.
Sometimes I start to write, then get distracted and put it on the shelf for later. I currently have four drafts sitting here that I have not finished, but this one seemed most relevant to discussions I have been having lately.
I’ve been thinking much about Satanic Philosophy as of late. Many Christians seem to think that the whole purpose of Satanism is to mock their faith. That it is nothing but a long troll. Unfortunately this perception seems to be reinforced by the antics of a certain political troll group masquerading as Satanism. I won’t name them, IYKYK.
You might ask, “Mike, what is Satanism, then? Why does it go so hard against Christianity?”
Let’s start with what Christianity is from our perspective: It is a religion that usurps Man’s capacity for critical thought. It would have us deny our nature, deny the flesh, and hate the world. It is the Grand Delusion, a death cult soaked in the blood of the innocent. I could, and have spent more hours than I care to count dismantling that ideology and their theology. I won’t waste your time with it here.
So what is Satanism? It is essentially, an anti-theistic philosophy that embraces the carnal nature of man. It recognizes man as an animal, as a part of nature. Flesh and Blood are real, they are life, and will die. There is no need to be ashamed of it, or to fear its end. Christians feel mocked by this. We mock them in our words, in our deeds, by embracing life, living abundantly, denying “sin.” We use religious language and symbolism to express these things because we feel a deep connection to them. They call these things “satanic,” or “evil.” We accept the name of Satan, the Adversary. We do not worship their bogeyman. We revere life, we enjoy the pleasure of living it. The real world is a wondrous place, savagely beautiful, indifferent to life. For a brief moment in eternity, we have the pleasure of experiencing it finitely. We need not waste time imagining gods that are concerned with our lives in order to give life meaning or purpose. We are the creators of meaning and purpose. You are responsible for your own purpose.
Satanism is not for everyone. I don’t expect every atheist to be a Satanist. We intentionally choose this name, not merely to mock Christian theology, but to use the symbolic language of religion to express our philosophy. For millennia humans have been mired in the mud and blood of religion, in theistic beliefs. We are ‘religious’ by nature. We can be awed by existence, by natural phenomena without assigning agency to them or becoming deranged by them. We have feelings about the world, about each other. We look to the cosmos and wonder what part we have to play. Satanism is but one way to live, one way to express these feelings. I would encourage all to think, to break the cycle of primitive delusion, but do it in a way that makes sense to you. For me, Satanism makes sense. It aligns with my view of the world in a way that I find fulfilling.
We have the 9 Satanic Statements, the 11 Rules of the Earth, the 9 Satanic Sins and The Satanic Bible from Anton LaVey and the Church of Satan. These serve as a good base for what Satanism is about, as they come from the founder of the religion. I don’t think it should end there. More recently we have the writings of the Ecclesia Luciferi from Lucifer Nostra Salus. The Ecclesia Luciferi is a spiritual sect that expands upon the fundamental Satanism of LaVey. It is a deeper exploration of the symbolism. You can learn more about it here:
At its heart, Satanism is pretty simple. Meditation and contemplation upon its simple concepts lead me to feelings of religiosity and offer a peace of mind that I don’t find in other religious philosophies. Christians will say that is because their Devil is my master, that I am possessed by an Evil Spirit. I can only roll my eyes and shrug. In their delusional, myopic view, it is 100% true. LCFNS explains in Biblia Pan-Satanica why they are both correct and wrong.
Below I have distilled some of the most basic concepts I find in Satanism, and offer a bit of commentary. Let me know what you think.
The mighty in thought and deed are rewarded in life.
One has the freedom to choose nobility or hedonism.
One will not escape the consequences of one’s actions.
One may indulge.
One may be Good.
If you cause harm, you’ve no right to complain about being harmed.
The Universe doesn’t care; your peers do.
Let’s examine these statements a little:
In Number 1: “The mighty in thought and deed are rewarded in life.” What do I mean by “mighty?” I mean the bold, the intelligent, the strong. The weak accomplish nothing. They don’t even try, they just expect that others will do for them. Even the strong fail, but not for lack of trying.
Boldness is rewarded for even trying. Intelligence is rewarded in failure with learning. Strength is rewarded in overcoming adversity.
In Number 2: “One has the freedom to choose nobility or hedonism.” Not every Satanist is a noble paragon of society. Some are wanton hedonists out for pleasure for pleasure’s sake. It’s fine. “Do what thou Wilt.”
In Number 3: “One will not escape the consequences of one’s actions.” This ties in with 1 and 2. You can be a Mighty Dick. That’s fine, but you better be strong enough to fend off the mob when it comes with torches and pitchforks. Use your intelligence to weigh the consequences. The consequences of nobility include self-satisfaction, the respect and goodwill of your peers. Hedonism can be satisfying as well. Pleasure is, well, pleasurable. Beware, some pleasures will harm you in the long run.
In Number 4: “One may indulge.” Life is the great indulgence, Death - the great abstinence. There is no “God” to offend, sin is a lie. Drink of the cup of life, be not ashamed for the pleasure you take in it.
In Number 5: “One may be Good.” You are not born stained with “original sin.” You have every right to be good if you so choose. You are free to determine what that means.
In Number 6: “If you cause harm, you’ve no right to complain about being harmed.” Just because you can do whatever you want, doesn’t mean that you should. We live and participate in a society of (mostly) sentient beings. If you conduct yourself with no regard for the well-being of others, you should not expect others to have regard for yours. Even if you do conduct yourself well, don’t rely on the goodwill of others. Beware of assholes, and remember Number 1. This also ties in with Number 3, and as a caution for the indulgence of Number 4.
In Number 7: “The Universe doesn’t care; your peers do.” The Universe, the creator of all, is indifferent, amoral. You are here, because it is here. Nothing you think, say, or do could offend it. What you do, it does. Its omnipotent power has granted you awareness. Your delight is its delight. Your suffering, its own. All of it is allowed. The only divine laws are those intrinsic to its operation. No one has the power to violate them. This is Satanic Nature.
What do you think?
Be well, may you live abundantly, and HAIL SATAN!
- Michael

I love your teaching
I can't take the Church of Satan and LaVey Satansim serious. It was just an adversarial mock of Christianity (that was necessary 50-80 years ago). It lacks any uniqueness and is just contrarianism. I listened to a CoS podcast a few days ago with Gilmore. It was superficial, empty of meaning and pseudo-philosophical blabber. You get more depths watching a Netflix show. I consider myself an archetypal Luciferian but don't speak about this a lot or only through my work without calling it that way. It's not about labels. The real message is sovereignty and spreading the wisdom of the black flame. Any organisation or church will fail at the moment they put out rules - they undermine their very purpose. The LHP is best walked in solitude and silence.
